| MHS Disney Trip Cancelled We appreciate everyone's patience in trying to get refunds for the spring trip. We are in the process of getting refunds out first to the seniors, then we will begin processing everyone else's account. For those planning on going with to Disney next spring, your money will roll-over into that spring trip account. We should be finished with all of this by the end of May. |
Music Camp
All members of the 2009 - 2010 Magnolia High School Band are
asked to attend Music Camp on May 29th. It is our first chance
to get the whole group together and prepare for the upcoming
marching season. Incoming freshmen will get a chance to play
with the high school band and get introduced to the marching
instruments. Camp will begin at 9:00 am and should be finished
by noon.
We will do three very important things to prepare for next
year's season. First, we will listen to all tryout music. This will
give us a chance to evaluate everyone and place them in the
appropriate band period. The students have been practicing
hard on their music and we look forward to hearing the results
of their hard work. Second, we will pass out marching
instruments to those that will need them. Some band members
will need some time this summer to get used to the feel of these
instruments, so they will be well prepared for summer band.
Finally, we will spend a little time playing through some music
together. We will work on the music for next year's show and a
few stand tunes. We will also run through the music needed to
play for the 2009 Senior Graduation. All incoming freshmen are
invited to join the high school band at Reed Arena in College
Station. We will meet at the high school at noon on Saturday,
May 30th. The ceremony begins at 2:00 pm, and I would expect
to be back in Magnolia by 5:00 pm. There is plenty of room on
the buses for all who would like to join us and get their first
taste of performing with the high school band.

We have postponed drum major tryouts until Tuesday May 26th in
order to give them a chance to practice their prepared piece. I
apologize for the inconvenience and hope that we can have a
successful tryout and be able to look forward to next year. If you
